Hugh Elphick is a London based photographer having recently completed the University of Westminster’s part-time BA(hons) degree in photographic arts. His work looks at the urban environment and has a socio-political basis. His most recent work has been the Inside series, which looks at Victorian Prisons in London and their proximity to residential neighbourhoods.

Recent projects include a street photography project in Barking, East London, considering the initial experience refugees and asylum seekers have when coming to London, and a portrait project in Soho - examining the changing dynamics of the small businesses and their owners.

Besides undertaking photographic projects, Hugh works as a moving picture and photography location manager and his clients, in the fashion and advertising industries benefit from his keen photographic eye as a location scout.
